At Applewood Countryside Park, we’re committed to creating inclusive stays for all, with a calm, welcoming environment where everyone can feel at ease.
The park offers accessible pitches, parking and shower facilities, along with quieter areas for guests who prefer a more peaceful setting. We aim to be sensory and neurodiverse friendly, and assistance dogs are always welcome.
With a team trained in Disability Awareness and Equality, we’re here to offer thoughtful support and help make every stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Is Applewood Countryside Park accessible for wheelchair and mobility scooter users?
Yes. Many areas of the campsite are designed to be accessible, including level pathways, accessible parking near Park Reception, and purpose-built accessible shower rooms. We also offer designated accessible pitches located close to facilities (see pitches A-D on our Park Map).
Are you sensory- and neurodiverse-friendly?
Yes. We aim to provide an inclusive environment and are happy to offer extra support where needed. This may include quieter pitch options, flexible or low-stress check-in arrangements, and a Sensory Welcome Box (available on request). We also provide discreet continence waste facilities, family shower rooms, laundry facilities, and have a team trained to offer understanding, practical support.

Do you offer quieter areas for guests who prefer a calm environment?
Yes, we do. Pitches 7A–7D are located within our designated Quiet Area, which is ideal for guests looking for a more peaceful stay. To help keep this area calm for everyone, we kindly ask guests to keep noise to a minimum, avoid playing music, keep conversations low-key in the evenings and ensure dogs are settled and non-reactive.
Other areas of the park can also feel quieter during off-peak periods, including pitches 22–27 in Laurel Meadow, which may suit guests who prefer a lower-noise setting.
As a family-friendly park, Applewood can naturally feel more lively during school holidays and peak times, with children playing and enjoying the outdoors. If a calmer pitch is important to you, we’re always happy to chat through the best options before you book to help you find the right fit for your stay.
Are there accessible toilet and shower facilities on site?
Yes. The main campsite has two spacious accessible family shower rooms with step-free access, low-level fittings, baby-changing facilities, continence/ nappy bin, hairdryer, mirror, and bench seat. Laurel Meadow also has an accessible shower room available for guests staying in that area. Access is with a RADAR Key which are available to hire or purchase from Park Reception.
Are assistance dogs welcome at the park?
Absolutely. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the park and are also permitted in two of our Shepherd’s Cabins. Dog waste bins and bags are provided around the site.
Is Park Reception accessible?
Park Reception is wheelchair accessible via a gentle slope and wide double doors. The reception desk has two counter heights to accommodate wheelchair users, children and standing guests. Large-print information is available on request, and our team is always happy to provide verbal assistance.
Do you have accessible pitches available?
Yes. We have four designated accessible grass pitches on the main campsite, positioned close to washroom facilities for convenience (see pitches A-D on our Park Map).
Is the park suitable for families with young children?
Yes. We provide baby-changing facilities, accessible family wet rooms, and child-friendly features across the park. Our play parks are designed to encourage inclusive, shared play, with shaded areas and easy access from across the site.
