A six-week celebration of family fun, creativity and outdoor discovery in the heart of the countryside. Each week brings a brand-new themed experience, from superhero missions and pirate quests to magical creatures, nature exploration and circus fun. With hands-on crafts, interactive challenges, tractor rides and special weekend events, there’s something to spark every child’s imagination (and give parents a well-earned moment to relax too).
Whether you’re staying for a weekend or a full week, every visit offers a fresh adventure, designed to bring families together, encourage little explorers and create those unforgettable summer holiday memories.
WEEK 1: SUPER HERO TRAINING CAMP
Step into a world of courage and creativity as little heroes discover their powers at Superhero Training Camp. From designing masks and crafting sidekicks to tackling a thrilling mission to save Applewood, it’s a week full of imagination, teamwork and action-packed fun.
WEEK 2: PIRATE ADVENTURE CAMP
Ahoy, young adventurers! Join the crew for a swashbuckling week of pirate fun, where families can create their own pirate gear, set sail on themed tractor rides and follow treasure maps to uncover hidden loot. A perfect mix of creativity, exploration and seaside-style adventure.
WEEK 3: MAGIC CREATURES CAMP
Enter an enchanting world of fairies, dragons and magical discoveries. This spellbinding week invites children to craft mystical creations, embark on magical rides and explore the woodland in search of hidden surprises. Expect wonder, imagination and a touch of Applewood magic.

Week 1: Superhero Training Camp
Monday 20th July
Mask of Power Workshop – Create your very own superhero mask and bring your secret identity to life.
Wednesday 22nd July
Hero Puppet Makers - Craft a mini superhero sidekick ready to join you on every mission.
Friday 24th July
Farmer Fred’s Hero Ride – Hop on board for a fun tractor ride with Applewood’s very own hero.
Saturday 25th July
Save Applewood Mission – Work together to solve clues, complete challenges and defeat the campsite villain to save the day.
Week 2: Pirate Adventure Camp
Monday 27th July
Captain’s Hat Creations – Craft your own pirate persona and create a captain’s hat that’s ready to sail the seven seas.
Wednesday 29th July
Flag of the Fearless Crew – Design a pirate flag to represent your family crew.
Friday 31st July
Farmer Fred’s Pirate Ride – Set sail on a tractor adventure with Applewood’s captain.
Saturday 1st August
Treasure Hunt Quest – Follow clues and solve puzzles to uncover hidden treasure and celebrate becoming an official Applewood pirate.
Week 3: Magic Creatures Camp
Monday 3rd August
Magical Mask Makers – Create a mask inspired by fairies, dragons, unicorns or goblins.
Wednesday 5th August
Sword & Wand Workshop – Design your own sword or wand and choose your magical powers.
Friday 7th August
Farmer Fred’s Fantasy Ride – Enjoy a magical tractor ride with a touch of Applewood enchantment.
Saturday 8th August
Golden Dragon Egg Hunt – Explore the woodland trail in search of hidden golden eggs… some may hold a surprise!
Week 4: Nature Explorers Camp
Monday 10th August
Rock Art Rangers – Paint your own colourful stone inspired by nature, perfect to take home as a keepsake.
Wednesday 12th August
Bug Hotel Builders – Help our team build a cosy new bug hotel for Applewood’s resident creepy crawlies and insects.
Friday 14th August
Farmer Fred’s Nature Ride – Take a relaxing tractor ride and enjoy the sights of the park.
Saturday 15th August
Nature Treasure Hunt – Find hidden natural treasures by solving the scavenger hunt clues. Who can complete their challenge list the fastest!
Week 5: Circus Fun Camp
Monday 17th August
Circus Animal Crafts – Create your own playful circus animal decorations with colourful pom poms.
Wednesday 19th August
Clown Mask Creation – Design a cheerful clown mask with plenty of colour and character.
Friday 21st August
Farmer Fred’s Circus Ride – Roll up, roll up for a fun-filled tractor ride.
Saturday 22nd August
Mini Circus Party – Have a go at some simple circus skills, play carnival games, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of laughter and fun.
Week 6: Summer Send-Off Celebration
Monday 24th August
Party Hat Designers – Make a colourful party hat ready for the big celebration.
Wednesday 26th August
Selfie Frame Creations – Design a fun photo frame, perfect for capturing your favourite Applewood moments.
Saturday 29th August
End of Summer Mini Disco – Dance, celebrate, and enjoy toasted marshmallows as we round off a wonderful summer together.

No - all Big Summer activities are included with your stay, at no extra charge. Just turn up and enjoy the fun!
Are the craft materials provided?
Yes! All craft materials are provided, so there’s no need to bring anything along for the craft sessions - just your creativity.
Do we need to bring anything with us?
No - everything will be ready and waiting for you.
Do I need to book any of the activities in advance?
No booking is required, all activities are drop-in. That said, it really helps our team to have an idea of numbers, so if you and your family would like to take part in any of the activities, just let us know when you arrive and check in at Park Reception.
Are the activities suitable for all ages?
Yes! The Big Summer Adventure activities are designed to be family-friendly, with a mix of calm, creative and energetic activities suitable for a range of ages.
